The House in Doorn was a conversion project of a small 1960s house which took place between 2005 and 2006. The total floor area of the new building is 260sqm. This was done by maximizing the basement and doubling the existing volume. The whole property was then wrapped in an insulating jacket.

The garden was landscaped with a variety of heights and steps and a rear outdoor patio was added to include a sculpture workshop. This open rear patio also helped in maximizing natural light into the studio.

The construction was self-managed and was done in collaboration with Anouk Weijenberg and Cor van den Berg.
